Tony Benn to give opening address at Animal Aid’s Christmas fayre

Posted on the 25th November 2009

Veteran politician and campaigner, Tony Benn, who is a patron of Animal Aid, will give the opening address at the annual Christmas Fayre, staged by the national campaign group, to be held on Sunday 6th December 2009 at Kensington Town Hall. An avid supporter of Animal Aid, Tony has previously launched our Sponsored Walk – a key annual fundraising event – and says of our work: ‘Animal Aid does a wonderful job, and deserves our full support.’

There will be nearly 100 stands at the event, selling vegan food, animal friendly produce and Christmas gifts – including scrumptious chocolates and cakes, beautiful toiletries and cosmetics, cruelty-free shoes and clothing, cards and special presents. Many animal welfare organisations will be in attendance, so all profits will help this vital work to continue.

This year, youngsters will be able to enjoy having their faces painted and a children’s workshop and a crèche will also be available. For adults, there will be a special web clinic, a press-ups contest and the excitement of the live auction of celebrity items, plus a series of talks by experts in the field of animal protection.

As the public places more and more emphasis on enjoying an ethical Christmas, Animal Aid’s Fayre has gone from strength to strength. Admission is only £2, a very reasonable amount given what is on offer, with children under 11 admitted free. This is the perfect opportunity to buy all your gifts under one roof and support worthy causes at the same time.

Kensington Town Hall, London, W8, Sunday 6th December, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. We regret that no animals, except guide dogs, are allowed in the Town Hall. For further details please contact Mary Shephard or Colin Bullen on 01732 364546, or see the website www.animalaid.org.uk.

THE animal-friendly event of the year – not to be missed!!
