Pressure grows for a whip ban in racing

Posted on the 19th December 2019

An article in today’s Daily Mail has hinted at the possibility of a whip ban in British racing.

Animal Aid has been at the forefront of calling for such a ban for well over a decade. We have recorded all whip breaches by jockeys and found that between 2016 and 2018 there was a year on year increase in jockeys breaking the rules.

Please make sure you help us to keep up the pressure by contacting your MP, either by sending one of our postcards or by emailing them.

You can order copies of our postcard to send to your MP and distribute to friends and family by emailing info@animalaid.org.uk.

For more info, please see our whip briefing sheet.
