Joint letter urging PM to ban snares gains huge support

Animal groups sign open letter to PM and Defra urging immediate action to ban snares.

Numerous animal protection groups, animal charities and academics have signed an open letter, co-ordinated by Animal Aid which urges the PM to ban the manufacture, sale, possession and use of snares immediately.

The letter highlights how cruel and indiscriminate snares are, the fact that MPs voted for a ban in 2016, and that the current ‘code of best practice’ has failed to protect animals.

A huge thank you to those of you who have completed our e-action to urge your MP and local council to help to ban snares If you haven’t already, find out how you can help.

Read the letter and see the signatories
