A vegetarian’s guide to going vegan

November is World Vegan Month! If you’re already a vegetarian, but don’t know how to make the next step towards being vegan, this guide is for you.

1. Explore!

These days, going vegan doesn’t mean going without! For every dairy and egg product you can think of, there is a vegan alternative. From ice-cream, yoghurts and whipped cream, to mayonnaise, scrambled eggs or salad cream, you’re guaranteed to find an alternative for your favourite dish.

2. Experiment.

As mentioned above, there are so many vegan alternatives available in the shops today. So, experiment with different brands and varieties to find the ones that you like the most. You may find that you prefer a certain type of plant milk or a specific brand of vegan cheese; it’s all about experimenting and having fun with food to discover what vegan alternatives you like.

3. Be kind to yourself

Changing your diet can take time, and that’s okay. Every effort you make towards eating completely vegan helps animals and the planet – and that is worth celebrating. If you happen to make a mistake and eat something that has animal products in, don’t worry about it. Be kind to yourself.
