So many new vegan products have been released in the past month! So much so that it is hard to keep track of them. Here are a few of our favourite new releases.
Iceland’s No Bull range
Having seen success with the No Bull Burgers – which reportedly have been consistently out-selling their meat counterparts – Iceland has released a huge frozen vegan range! The range has also been given its own dedicated plant-based freezer in stores, and features sausages, ‘chicken’ fillets and pieces, mince, ‘chorizo’, tofu burgers and more! Thank you Iceland for upping your vegan game.
Costa Coffee Sticky Toffee and Pecan Cookie
For those with a sweet tooth, this is for you. A soft baked cookie with a gooey toffee centre, topped with a drizzle of chocolate and a sprinkle of pecans. Perfect with a soya latte!
Waitrose Vegan Ploughmans Sandwich
Waitrose has, of late, been very good with its ‘to go’ range when it comes to offering plant-based options. And it appears to be the first supermarket to introduce a vegan cheese sandwich! The vegan ploughmans is a plant-based twist on the classic, and features vegan cheese and vegan mayonnaise.
Caffe Nero Vegan Cheese Toastie
Speaking of cheese, it appears that coffee chains are also meeting the demand for plant-based cheeses. Caffe Nero has now released this vegan cheese, tomato and pesto toastie. It features deliciously creamy vegan mozzarella and a green pesto – perfect for a quick lunch.
Asda Pizza Counters Now Offer Vegan Cheese
Okay, we’re not quite done with the cheese theme. Asda has now started to offer vegan cheese at its fresh pizza counters in the majority of its stores. This means that you don’t have to have the awkward “pizza, but with no cheese” conversation with the server anymore, nor do you have to miss out on a good old-fashioned fresh cheese pizza!
Vegan Magnums
You know times are changing when perhaps the most well-known ice-cream bar has released vegan options! The vegan Magnums come in two varieties: classic and almond. The classic feature velvety smooth vanilla ice-cream made from pea-protein, and the almond variety has additional chunks of almonds in the chocolate.
New Oumph! Products!
Swedish meat-alternative brand, Oumph!, has taken the UK market by storm and has now released two more products: Oumph! Salty & Smoky, a bacon-like alternative, and Oumph! Pizzas! Both are now available in Tesco and certainly go to show that going vegan doesn’t mean going without.
Pret A Manger Vegan Almond Butter Bites
Pret has always been good to those who follow a plant-based diet. As well as having a wide range of vegan options, they also have three Veggie Pret’s – which only sell vegetarian and vegan products – with a fourth set to open soon. Pret has recently released a new vegan sweet treat: Almond Butter Bites, which are dark chocolate bites, filled with almond butter and a touch of sea salt. Delicious and perfect with a coffee!
New Pizza Express Vegan Menu
Pizza Express were perhaps the first pizza chain to release a dedicated vegan pizza. However, since then they have continued offer more and more vegan options. Their new menu features the Vegan Puttansca – jackfruit marinated in a traditional Puttanesca sauce of tomatoes, olives, capers, red onion, chilli, garlic and herbs, with vegan mozzarella cheese! In addition to this, they now offer a vegan carrot cake as a dessert, and soya milk for hot drinks!
