With only one month to go until the start of the Summer Vegan Pledge, check out these exciting events happening to support those taking part.
Participants will not only be entitled to some exciting discounts and special offers at some of the UK’s most well-known independent vegan spots, there are a number of events that will be happening between now and the end of June to support and help those taking part.
The amazing Potato Tomato in Whitstable, Kent, will be holding a vegan tasting evening. You will have the chance to sample some vegan alternatives to meat, cheese, milk and other delicious vegan treats. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about veganism and plant-based eating.
We are really excited to be launching the Summer Vegan Pledge  at The Blacksmith and the Toffeemaker in Islington, London – a 100% vegan pub. There will be talks, a chance to get to know others, and some delicious vegan food. The event is free but limited to 70 people; those participating in the Summer Vegan Pledge will be given priority.
The Black Cat Café in Hackney, London are putting a very special tapas night, exclusively for Summer Vegan Pledge participants (please feel free to bring a plus one, too)! For just £7.00 (payable on the day), you will have the chance to sample all of the classics, and most popular dishes that they have to offer.
Places are limited to 35 so to avoid disappointment, book your place by contacting: tod@animalaid.co.uk.
The Retreat Animal Sanctuary is a vegan-run animal rescue in High Halden, Kent. You will have the opportunity to visit the sanctuary, see the animals who live there – most of whom have been rescued from slaughter or factory farms, meet other participants and have a delicious vegan lunch! If you would like to attend, please either fill out and post back the slip that can be found in your Welcome Pack or contact me to confirm your place. There is no charge for this event, however, we would encourage anybody who is attending (or even if you are not) to donate to The Retreat so they can continue their vital, life-saving work.
