We are very excited to announce that vegan actor, writer and comedian Sara Pascoe has become an Animal Aid patron. Sara has appeared in numerous popular television shows, including The Thick of It, Mock the Week and QI. She is a successful stand-up comedian, has written Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body, and is currently working on another book.
In 2016 Sara performed a special stand-up comedy show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of our Christmas Without Cruelty event in Exeter, and to raise money for Animal Aid. As a high-profile member of the vegan community, we have no doubt that Sara has inspired many others to adopt this compassionate way of life.
Sara joins Chrissie Hynde, Carol Royle and Peter Tatchell, who are also patrons of Animal Aid. All our patrons play a vital role in raising our profile and being ambassadors for our work to bring an end to animal cruelty.
Says Sara Pascoe:
‘Like lots of others I am super keen that our world becomes less cruel to animals. I’ll do anything I can to support Animal Aid and their work.’
Says Animal Aid Director, Isobel Hutchinson:
‘We are delighted to welcome Sara Pascoe as a patron of Animal Aid, and feel honoured that she has chosen to support our work in this way. As both a dedicated vegan and a highly successful comedian, we feel that Sara will be a perfect ambassador for our work to create a cruelty-free world.’
The short answer is no - especially not in the name of animal rights.
