In February, Ruth Jones MP tabled a new Early Day Motion (EDM), calling on the government to implement its promised ban on snares as soon as possible.
Since then, MPs from several political parties have voiced their support for the motion. However, to secure a countrywide ban, we need to show overwhelming public and parliamentary backing, proving that it is both urgent and widely supported.
Snares have already been banned in Wales and in Scotland – so it is paramount that the Government sticks to its Manifesto commitment to implement a full ban in England, and acts as soon as is practically possible.
Please check here to see if your MP has already signed the EDM.
If not, then you can send a very quick message to your MP, asking them to show their support for a ban of these cruel and indiscriminate devices, which trap and kill countless defenceless animals every year.
