Help bring an end to horse slaughter

Posted on the 2nd June 2021

Animal Aid used the Freedom of Information Act to uncover the facts about horse slaughter in the UK.

We discovered that 2,165 horses were killed for their meat in UK slaughterhouses, in 2019.

Astoundingly, when we asked the government the same question, our request was rejected because the information was said to be “commercially sensitive.”

We have launched a petition, calling on the government to take action on horse slaughter, by limiting the number of horses bred each year. This will mean fewer horses end up as ‘surplus’ or unwanted – and fewer horses will end their lives at an abattoir.

Please do all you can to support this campaign by signing and sharing this petition.
