Bill Oddie speaks up for Windermere Geese

Posted on the 21st February 2012

Just three days before a mass petition is to be handed in to the Lake District National Park Authority, the campaign to stop the planned cull of Canada geese on Windermere has received support from world-famous birdwatcher and broadcaster, Bill Oddie.

Today he tweeted:

Canada Geese on Windermere? Big damage? No.
Public love em? Yes.
Shoot ‘em? No!

Bill Oddie is the second celebrity to oppose the cull, joining Queen guitarist Brian May who last week said: ‘The order for this cull must be rescinded now, and some proper thought given to what action is needed, if any.’
