As July is National Ice Cream Month, here’s a couple of our favourite vegan ice creams!
Vegan ice cream has been around for a very long time, but only in recent years has it gone mainstream, with many different brands filling freezers in supermarkets.
Ben and Jerry’s Cookie Dough is their signature ice cream, and after bringing out a range of vegan ice creams a few years ago, it was only a matter of time before their classic cookie dough flavour was veganised.

Dappa is a 100% vegan ice cream company. If you’ve been to a vegan festival or event in London in recent times you will have no doubt seen them. Their ice cream is some of the best around and comes in a range of exciting flavours including Chocolate Composure, Peanut Butter, Dappaccino (cappuccino) and Mint Chocolate Chip.

Most supermarkets have launched their own-brand vegan ice creams, and Aldi has launched a number of vegan ice cream bars. Their salted caramel ones are delicious – creamy ice cream, coated in chocolate with a salted caramel filling. Perfect for the summer!
Available from: Aldi
Magnum is probably one of the most well-known ice cream bars in the world, so when they released vegan products it was certainly a sign that veganism had gone mainstream. They have two versions at the moment – a standard Magnum and an almond version which contains almonds in the chocolate coating.

The well-loved oat milk brand has branched out to release a number of vegan ice cream flavours, which have recently launched in the UK. The Chocolate Fudge is amazing – rich and creamy ice cream featuring swirls of delicious fudge throughout.

This is just a few of Animal Aid staff’s favourites. There are so many vegan ice creams available these days; going vegan certainly doesn’t mean going without!
