Animal Aid and In Defense of Animals call for President Obama to drop Anna Wintour

Animal Aid has joined forces with American animal protection organisation, In Defense of Animals, to ask President Obama to remove American Vogue editor Anna Wintour โ€“ a long time promoter of fur โ€“ from the list of possible ambassadors to the UK.

Millions of animals are put through agonies and destroyed each year in the name of fashion. The industry is so cruel that the breeding and killing of animals for their fur has been banned in the UK. To have a US ambassador posted to London who is such an unashamed and prominent advocate of fur would be a deeply insulting and divisive step.
