Backbench debate on wild animals in circuses
Posted 17 June 2011
Following the government's recent admission (through Defra minister Jim Paice) that there is no lawsuit taking place in Austria that would prevent a UK ban on wild animals in circuses, a backbench debate on the use of wild animals in circuses will be held in the main chamber of the House of Commons next Thursday, 23rd June at 3pm. The debate will lead to a vote, which if favourable, will send a strong message to ministers that they must reverse their decision and introduce a complete ban in place of the proposed regulation.
