Following the recent Welsh Assembly elections, the Labour party - while short of an overall majority - is seeking to form a government. In its manifesto, Welsh Labour said it would ‘take a science-led approach to evaluate and review the best way of tackling Bovine TB’. Please hold the party to that by contacting its leader, Carwyn Jones and calling for the proposed cull to be scrapped. Please remind him that:

• Vaccination of badgers is a viable alternative to culling and that vaccination programmes are already underway in the UK.
• The number of cows being slaughtered due to TB has fallen significantly in the past two years.
• Eighty-four per cent of respondents to the Welsh consultation opposed a badger cull.
