'Cruel' F Drury & Sons fined over death of worker
Posted 16 September 2013
F Drury & Sons, a Wiltshire slaughterhouse where Animal Aid covertly filmed in September 2010, was this week fined £70,000 after a worker was killed. Adrian Roberts was cleaning the equipment used to strip skin from cows when a hydraulic arm came down on him, crushing him to death. At F Drury & Sons, Animal Aid filmed sheep being decapitated while still alive, calves slipping and collapsing repeatedly to the floor for three hours, and terrified goats leaping into the killing area to evade the stunning tongs.
