FIREWORK CLAMPDOWN
Posted 1 March 2002
Following
reports of the death and suffering of many animals during the Bonfire Night
period last year, the Nottingham-based animal rescue group, Prevent Unwanted
Pets, has launched a petition to try and clamp down on the sale of fireworks.
Firework related incidents of animal cruelty investigated by PUP include the shocking story of a dog who was discovered tied up in a field with fireworks attached to her fur. Luckily she recovered and was re-homed, even though the fireworks had actually been set alight.
