School Speakers' Workshop on Saturday November 27, 2004

School speaker in action

We will be very happy to welcome anyone interested in becoming a school speaker at our next School Speakers' Workshop, which will take place in the centre of Leeds on the 27th of November.

Informing and empowering young people is one of the most powerful tools we have in our fight for animals. The battle for young people's hearts and minds is hotting-up as defenders of animal abuse are sending more and more speakers and resources into schools. We must ensure that our voices are heard and that is why we need your support.

The Workshop deals with the basics of giving talks, how to present the issues in the most effective way, how to deal with awkward questions, and is a chance to meet like-minded people and exchange ideas and experiences. No pressure is put on individuals to talk about issues with which they are not comfortable. So, for example, if you feel you might like to give talks on vegetarianism, but are not ready yet to give talks on vivisection, then that's fine.

Talk by Animal Aid's Scientific Consultant André Menache

An added bonus this time is that Andre Menache, our scientific adviser, will be at the Workshop, talking about animal experiments and answering questions.

For more information and/or to book a place at the Workshop, please contact Ann Harriman on 01732 364546 ext 221, email ann@animalaid.co.uk.

Animal Aid also produces a 16 page guide to giving effective school talks. Click here to send for a free guide now.
