Walk for the Animals 2011
Posted 18 April 2011
Animal Aid’s 8th annual sponsored walk in Hampstead Heath is on Saturday, 11th June.
This year, the stars of the day are Mushroom and Teacup! They live with an Animal Aid supporter and have been regulars on the sponsored walk for years. They are looking forward to being the centre of attention on June 11th, as they walk the 10km around the heath to raise money for our educational work.
Each lap is 2.5 km long and takes you past a chain of 300-year-old ponds, across the Heath, through the woodland and up on to Parliament Hill. The view from the top is spectacular.
We meet close to the bandstand, near the Parliament Hill café at 12.45pm. Then at 1pm, we all set off. Vegan Campaigns will be on hand to serve up delicious cold buffet snacks as you complete your laps.
Parking is limited, so we recommend public transport. The following buses take you straight to the Heath: 214, C2 and C11. Kentish Town is the nearest tube and Gospel Oak is the closest main line station. If you are driving, there is a car park at the Lido.
Everyone who completes the walk will receive a certificate signed by Animal Aid’s director, Andrew Tyler, a special T-shirt and a glass of bubbly.
To register for the walk and to receive a map and directions, please email Karin or call her on 01732 364546 ext 223.
If you can't come along on the day, please consider sponsoring Mushroom and Teacup to do the walk.
