Please join in the fun at Animal Aid's seventh annual sponsored walk!
Posted 18 May 2010
It’s on Saturday 5 June on Hampstead Heath and starts at 1pm and finishes around 4pm. Come along and walk and chat with Animal Aid staff, members and supporters.
This year, two very cute dogs, George & Gina, who live with Animal Aid staff, Jamie and Kelly, will be walking the 10km to raise funds for our education work. They are pampered regulars at the Animal Aid office.
Shambhu’s vegan kitchen will be on hand to provide delicious snacks to keep your energy levels up!
Each lap is 2.5 km long and takes you past a chain of 300-year-old ponds, across the Heath, through the woodland and up on to Parliament Hill. The view from the top is spectacular.
We meet at the bandstand, near the Parliament Hill café at 12.45pm. Then at 1pm, we all set off. When you have completed the walk you will receive a special T-shirt and a glass of bubbly or orange juice.
Parking is limited, so we recommend public transport. The following buses take you straight to the Heath: 214, C2 and C11. Kentish Town is the nearest tube and Gospel Oak is the closest main line station. If you are driving, there is a car park at the Lido and the prices are as follows: Up to 2 hours - £1.70, 2-4 hours - £3.40 and every hour thereafter - £3.40.
To register for the walk and to receive a map and directions, please email Karin or call her on 01732 364546 ext 223.
