Sponsored walk a huge success!
Posted 12 June 2007
Thank you to everyone who attended Animal Aid’s fourth annual Sponsored Walk for the Animals on Hampstead Heath, and to all of our supporters who sponsored Peter Tatchell to walk the 10 km.
Saturday was a beautiful, warm, sunny day and the heath was buzzing with activity. Just before setting off, Peter addressed the walkers with an upbeat speech and cut the ribbon to officially declare the walk open.
Patrick from Veggies Catering came all the way from the Bristol Vegan fayre to serve up very welcome, much needed refreshments.
Cooling down and resting in the park
Once they had completed the 10 km, all walkers received an exclusive "I walked for Animal Aid" T-shirt and an Animal Aid badge. And then we all sat in the shade beneath a huge oak tree and supped on delicious glasses of Bucks Fizz, while children ran around with faces painted like tigers, thanks to the wonderful artistic skills of Animal Aid supporter, Eileen Kinghorn.
Thank you to our sponsors
Many organisations and individuals donated their wares or services to the walk, and we would like to say a big thank you to them. They are:
- Vegetarian Shoes
- Veggies Catering
- T-Shirt and Sons
- Vinceremos
