In the run up to Living Without Cruelty 2000
Posted 7 March 2000
THE BURGEROID INVASION BEGINS!
WHO ARE THE BURGEROIDS?
Evil invaders from another galaxy who are working alongside negative forces here on earth to wreak bloodshed, death and the frenzied consumption of the earth's precious resources.
THE BURGEROID MASTERPLAN
Stage 1: Establish a 'Dome-shaped' staging post in the south of England to attract people from miles around (OK, they're working on it!) who would then serve as their brainwashed emissaries on earth.
Stage 2: Send an advance guard of three burgeroids to undertake a fact-finding tour of notable London locations - trying their best to blend in with the crowds.
SPANNER IN THE WORKS
Animal Aid have devised a counterplan - the staging of Living Without Cruelty exhibition 2000 - dedicated to thwarting the burgeroids and their Dome mothership.
WHERE WILL THE BURGEROIDS BE, AND WHEN?
In the week leading up to the Living Without Cruelty exhibition the burgeroids will be visiting prominent London locations. Details will only be known a day in advance, but with the opportunity for the earth's media to get updates by contacting Animal Aid.
Living without Cruelty exhibition 2000 will be committed to generating enthusiasm for a more peaceful and compassionate future...
A key feature of the exhibition will be the spectacular Millennium Maze, which will be raising some of the most important dilemmas facing humanity. Maze trekkers will be taken through a banana plantation to the rainforest, past the fairtrade chocolate shop. They can navigate a minefield, meet a giant radioactive lobster in the nuclear nightmare, or a genetically engineered half-human, half-beast minotaur in the food production zone. The exhibition also features films, a special music concert, cookery demos, educational workshops and more than 50 stands taken by leading ethical organisations and businesses including Oxfam, World Development Movement, Friends of the Earth, Campaign Against Arms Trade, Amnesty International, Born Free and a host of animal protection groups.
