VIVA! Factory farming demos
Posted 1 March 2002
A
major national demonstration against the evils of factory farming is to be staged
in London on July 13 by national campaign group Viva!
Supported by Animal Aid and several other animal protection groups, the Viva! event will take the form of a rally, march and exhibition. Animal suffering and the threat to human health from modern animal 'production' systems will be highlighted.
Starting point is 12 noon Kennington Park in south London, where there will be speeches, the screening of an undercover film, food and stalls. Then comes a march through central London.
Meanwhile - from 11am til 8pm - an exhibition will be running at the Camden Centre, Camden Town Hall in central London (nearest tube Kings Cross). Here there will be delicious vegan food, drink and a wide range of stalls from national and local groups. The day's theme will be: End Factory Farming - Before it Ends Us. The event will be the climax of a series of regional factory farming rallies staged by Viva! around the country.
