End Live Exports
Posted 14 September 2012
Ramsgate was the scene of catastrophic animal suffering this week when 45 animals from a single ‘batch’ were killed, with two of them drowning. Since the live export trade moved there from Dover last year, campaigners from Kent Action Against Live Exports (KAALE) have warned that the port was not suitable, and recent events have proved them right. Not only were large numbers of sheep arriving at the port found to be suffering from broken legs and other injuries, but six animals fell into the water, with two drowning.
