- 2 onions, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, mashed
- root ginger, grated
- sunflower oil or vegetable oil
- tomato puree
- soya sauce
- miso - barley or rice - paste, one teaspoonful
- Place onions, garlic and ginger in a saucepan with a little oil.
- Cook until beginning to turn brown.
- Add tomato puree and soya sauce to taste.
- Stir in water left over from boiling potatoes, or other vegetables, to suit the consistency required.
